New page

This page is for photographers attempting to wirelessly trigger their Nissin speedlights with Pocketwizard radios. Read on for information about feature compatibility and caveats.
Using Nissin with ControlTL Radios
The Di622, Di622 Mark II, Di866, and Di866 Mark II for Nikon are not currently compatible with ControlTL radios (such as the and FlexTT5) in their default settings.

Nikon users may be able to use Nissin speedlights with their ControlTL radios configured for Basic Trigger Mode. Please be aware, in Basic Trigger Mode all ControlTL features are disabled. TTL, remote power control, and High Speed Sync/FP will be unavailable. In this configuration you will need to adjust power settings on the back of the speedlights manually.

You can read more about Basic Trigger Mode on this page.
Using Nissin with Standard Channel Radios
The Di622, Di622 Mark II, Di866, and Di866 Mark II for Nikon can be used in their manual modes with all Standard Channel PocketWizard radios, such as the PlusX, Plus III, and MultiMAX.
Using Nissin with ControlTL Radios
The Di622, Di622 Mark II, Di866, and Di866 Mark II for Canon are currently compatible with ControlTL radios (such as the and FlexTT5) with the following limitations.

Di622:
* Compatible as both a TTL and Manual remote flash
* Local/master flash usage is not supported

Di622 Mark II:
* Compatible as both a TTL and Manual remote flash
* Local/master flash usage is not supported

Di866:
* Compatible as both a TTL and Manual remote flash
* HSS is not supported for Manual remotes – use TTL for remote HSS
* Local/master flash usage is not supported

Di866 Mark II:
* Compatible as both a TTL and Manual remote flash
* HSS is supported for both TTL and Manual remotes
* Local/master flash usage is not supported

<br/>

NOTE: A control was added to the Misc Tab in the PocketWizard Utility called “Top Shoe Detection Mode.” To use a Nissin Di866 or Di622 for Canon this control must be set for “Nissin Flash.”

The Di622, Di622 Mark II, Di866, and Di866 Mark II for Canon can be used in their manual modes with all Standard Channel PocketWizard radios, such as the PlusX, Plus III, and MultiMAX.
